Anna Devitt

Founder of DirectDevitt and Comedy & Confidence®

Anna embarked on challenging and changing the way we educate young people. Anna built Comedy & Confidence® Training Program which was accredited under SCQF Levels 3,4,5,6 and is a custom built SQA Award.

Comedy & Confidence deliver alternative creative education courses to people disengaged from mainstream education/work/life. In 2018 after Anna was the keynote speaker for CHS Scotland the idea of a project which cumulates in a live performance at a renowned theatre was born. In 2019 Anna opened a charity delivering the project “Life is but a Pantomime” offering qualifications in comedy and confidence, NPA creative industries wellbeing and mental health; starting in G-Town and will launch throughout the UK in the coming months.

Our courses aim to build life skills that they are otherwise not getting – confidence, communication and presentation through the medium of comedy. People learn, laugh and acquire a recognised, accredited qualification. Alongside our qualifications we also offer bespoke workshops to people of all ages, again through the medium of comedy, which can be tailored to the group needs and issues they wish to explore through a creative platform.

Comedy & Confidence® also do staff training for a variation of businesses and third sector organisations, where we create bespoke sketches around new policies and procedures. Our work has impacted at a government policy level with changes in place from things our young people have presented around the children’s panel and social work services.
